A streamlined reporting experience in Google Search Console designed to help content creators understand top performing pages and new queries.
Search Console Insights is a streamlined view of Search performance within Search Console. It highlights metrics and changes such as clicks, impressions, prominent pages and query trends. The integrated report differs from the older standalone beta experience that some tutorials describe.
Trending labels summarize observed changes, not their causes. A page trending down may reflect changing demand, a different query mix or another issue that needs investigation. It should not automatically be rewritten or deleted because it appears in a declining list.
Query groups can also require interpretation. A group’s total may represent several similar queries rather than only the phrase used as its label. Use the linked Performance report when you need more detailed filters and context instead of treating a summary card as a complete dataset.
Takeaway: Use Insights to choose the next useful question, then investigate it in the detailed reports. Keep Search clicks separate from sales or on-site engagement.
Example
A business sees a guide listed as trending up. It opens the detailed view to check which queries and pages contributed before deciding whether to create related content. The summary provides a useful starting point, not proof that every new reader is a potential customer.
What to check
Check the selected period and comparison context. Record the underlying filters when sharing a finding. Features and availability can vary, so avoid treating an older screenshot as a permanent guide to every account’s interface.
